Installation wizard

The Installation Wizard in Maingrid guides users through a seamless setup process, configuring all necessary infrastructure components for both the orchestration node (CIMS) and worker node groups. This tool automates everything from networking to security requirements on AWS, ensuring a smooth start with minimal effort.

This Installation Wizard makes setup simple, so you can focus on deploying and scaling your AI workloads without needing to manage infrastructure manually.

Before starting this tutorial, make sure you have successfully connected Maingrid to your AWS account. Click here for instruction.

Steps to Use the Platform:

1. Navigate to AI Inference and Click on Installer: Begin by navigating to the AI Inference section and selecting the Installer option.

1. Choose an Instance Type for the Orchestrator Server (CIMS): We recommend selecting a t3.medium instance type for the orchestrator server to balance cost and performance. If your cluster requires higher concurrency for scaling, consider selecting a larger instance type to accommodate increased demand.

1. Select AWS Region for the Orchestrator Server: Pick your preferred AWS region where the orchestrator server will be installed.

2. Select Your Connected AWS Account: Choose the AWS account you connected earlier.

3. Enter a Friendly Name for the Node: Provide a user-friendly name for this node, up to 40 characters, with no spaces.

1. Choose Desired Worker Instance Type: For recommended instance types based on your use case, refer to the AIT Tech Specs document. This instance type will determine the capacity for running AI inference tasks.

1. Set Desired Storage Size and AWS Region: Enter your preferred storage size and select an AWS region. We strongly recommend using the same region as your orchestration server for optimal latency and performance.

2. Select the Same AWS Account: Use the same AWS account as before, and assign a friendly name to this worker node.

1. Configure Scaling Capacity for Worker Node Group:

   • Minimum Capacity: The number of worker nodes always available.

   • Desired Capacity: The minimum concurrency level.

   • Max Capacity: The top scaling limit for the worker node group.

1. Review the Summary: Double-check the summary of your settings to ensure everything is configured correctly.

2. Click on ‘Setup Cluster’: When you’re ready, click to initiate cluster setup.

3. Installation Process: The setup will begin shortly. Depending on AWS availability, installation may take 5 to 15 minutes. You can leave this page and check back later, as the process runs on the server side.

4. Installation Complete: Once finished, your orchestration server (CIMS) and worker node group are fully configured and ready to support AI inference tasks. You will see an 'istallation success' indicator.

Now that the installation is complete, you can proceed to the next step: Connectivity Setup This will allow you to setup wirings between Orchestration server and the worker nodes.
